Thomas Adams’ company, The American Chicle Company, was acquired by Warner-Lambert in 1962, growing the business rapidly by gaining access to new markets. In an effort to keep developing innovative and functional new products through its new acquisition, Warner Lambert debuted Adams Sour fruit-flavored gums in 1965. The Sours were first made available in apple, cherry and orange flavors.
Adams Sour Chewing Gum in its many flavors was mass-produced and sold for 18 years before being discontinued in 1984, only to be brought back to the market for the first time in 2005 as a limited-edition nostalgia product. For this limited release, Adams Sour Cherry and Adams Sour Apple are available.
Adams Sour is sold in five-stick packs and is being released as a limited-edition product now available in select stores and on select websites for a limited time. Visit our Where To Buy page to visit these websites.
